Lynyrd Skynyrd played the 2006 CMA Music Festival. It was the first time that I had seen people leave when Lynyrd Skynyrd came on stage, but this was a country music crowd. Skynyrd played a short set including "Sweet Home Alabama", as well as a version of
"That Smell" for the ABC-TV camera's, but no Billy Powell (keyboardist) and
no Freebird at this show. We were up front for this one. They put on a good show!
Two days later, Billy Ray Cyrus performed and brought out original Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Ed King, who performed their version of "Sweet Home Alabama", with Billy Ray singing it.

We went up to the stage and got pictures of LeeAnn Rimes at the 2006 CMA Music Festival
Clint Black's set was cut short because of a rain storm. The crowd had to leave the field.
The crowd eventually returned to the field for a set by Sugarland, which ended the festival.
The CMA Music Festival also ended with a great Fireworks Show at Nashville's LP Field
It was fun, playing tourist in my own hometown. And, I really enjoyed the festival.
