Night Train to Nashville - Volume II - Album Release Party, Autogrph Session & Concert

Artists attending this event included solo artists and members from many of the

bands included on The Night Train To Nashville CD's, Book & Poster :

Hal & Jean, Frank Howard, Earl Gaines, Marian James, The Valentines, Bobby Hebb,  Audrey Bryant, Buzz Cason, Tom Holbert, Hal Hardy, The Imperials, George Yates,  Jimmy Church, Johnny Jones, Marian James, Sandra King, Charles "Wigg" Walker and other related artists

All R&B heaven breaks loose when the Country Music Hall Of Fame & Museum and Lost Highway Records release Night Train To Nashville: Music City Rhythm & Blues, 1945-1970, Volume Two on September 20, 2005. The first volume garnered a Grammy Award as the best historical recording of 2004. The 2-CD second volume further illustrates the sterling quality and diverse sounds of the Nashville rhythm and blues that exploded across national
radio and television airwaves (even though it was not considered suitable for family audiences) in this period. There are numerous interesting examples of collaboration between R&B and country artists, of country songs that became rhythm and blues hits and rhythm and blues songs that became country hits. A number of Nashville artists, including the Spidells, Jimmy Church and Sandra King, appeared in the 1960's on the all-black, Nashville-produced, groundbreaking television program Night Train. First imagined by host Noble Blackwell, Night Train was followed in later years by the more well-known, Chicago based Soul Train.

May 1, 2006: Barry Gibb at Hendersonville High School (Tornado Benefit). Pictures by Pat Adams

May 1, 2006:  Barry Gibb Live: While watching the local evening news on Nashville's WKRN TV, I heard Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees would be making an appearance that evening at

the "A Night Of Healing" Tornado Relief Benefit Concert in Hendersonville. As a concert photographer, my first  photograph's are of the Bee Gees at a 1971 concert. I also took my parents 8mm Film Camera to this show and filmed several minutes of rare Bee Gees video. When I heard on the news that Barry Gibb would be performing in Hendersonville that night,

I made that 45 minute drive and made a donation, just to be there. Barry Gibb recently bought the home of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash in Hendersonville. Sadly, it burned down while being renovated.

Hendersonville suffered major loss in April Tornadoes, losing homes, buildings, and nine people in Sumner County. Singer/songwriter Kelly Lang came up with the idea of having a Benefit Concert. She asked Barry Gibb, he not only agreed, but had Kelly to sing Islands In The Stream with him. Barry Gibb, wrote the hit song,

Barry Gibb started his set of with the Bees Gees most popular hit "To Love Somebody".

It sounded great! He went on to sing another Bee Gees hit "Words". The crowd loved it.

He went on to bring out Kelly Lang, and sing a great version of "Islands In The Stream".

Although Barry Gibb only did three songs, it was well worth the drive and donation.

As a bonus to seeing Barry Gibb, I got to see several great country music artists,

put on an excellent show. (Pat Adams from TennesseeConcerts)

Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Famer Felix Cavaliere from the Rascals, groovin' on a Sunday afternoon in the Picnic Shelter at Centennial Park. This was an Italian Festival with Sausage and Bocce. Felix Cavaliere sounded great, mixing oldies with Rascals songs including Groovin, Good Lovin, Mustang Sally, and other  Rascals hits. He kept the crowd going, from the old folks to young kids. He signed a few autographs after the show, and I had a chance to shake hands with him.  This was a fun time with some great music. Text & Pictures by Pat Adams

June 8, 2006: THIS VIDEO IS DEDICATED TO GARY ROSSINGTON Never-before-seen video of Lynyrd Skynyrd performing Sweet Home Alabama at the CMA Music Festival (Fan Fair) in Nashville TN. While my late friend Katie Lovering was shooting video for our seats, I was up at the stage taking pictures. I inserted my close-up pictures into her distant video and it turned out pretty good. Katie got some good shots of the stadium crowd.  This was a country music crowd, so many people filed out of Nissan Stadium (then, LP Field) when Lynyrd Skynyrd took to the stage. But the people that stayed, loved it! Keyboardist Billy Powell was not there. See video, with my close up pictures inserted within the video. It's only fitting that the video ends with a girl yelling "Freebird". Sadly, they didn't play it. We unknowingly posted this video on the same day that Gary Rossington died. Video dedicated to Gary Rossington, bass player Ean Evans and to Katie Lovering (shot the video). By Pat Adams

VIDEO: June 8, 2006: This was me and the ABC-TV cameraman in the photographers pit at the 2006 CMA Music Festival while Lynyrd Skynyrd also played for a nationwide TV special. I had the best view in LP Field Stadium (now Nissan Stadium) in front about large amount of country music fans. Gary Rossington flipped a guitar pick down to me in between songs. I still have it. The video was taken with a little pocket camera.
