Paul Simon at Bridgestone Arena. He had a 15 piece band and played for about 2 1/2 hours.
He played a variety of his songs. I was quite disappointed that I didn't know most songs,
until toward the end of the show. The highlight for me was surprise guest Don Everly

Former Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Artimus Pyle at the City Winery in Nashville Tennessee
Artimus Pyle Band Review by LaVon DuBois (Pictured on right) at Nashville's City Winery
I have to first mention "The City Winery" in our Beautiful town of Nashville! It was my first visit to this awesomely beautiful venue. The room is gorgeously decorated with wine barrels visible in the making of their fabulous wine! My server was a guy named Patrick and he was awesome. This particular room in this venue will accommodate 440 - 500 comfortably for drinks and dinner. Did I mention valet parking at the cheap price of $6.00! Although, I didn't get the grand tour, I am sure there are other rooms available just as beautiful. I will certainly be back soon. The Artimus Pyle Band is the Ultimate Tribute To Ronnie Van Zant's Lynyrd Skynyrd. Thomas Delmer "Artimus" Pyle is an American musician known for playing drums with Lynyrd Skynyrd from 1974 to 1977 and from 1987 to 1991. Artimus will turn 70 years young July 15th! Happy Birthday Sir! Artimus being the only original member of Lynyrd Skynyrd is joined by Brad Durden, Jerry Lyda, Scott Raines, and Tony Black. Although, when they played at Nashville's City Winery, Tony Black was on tour with Billy Bob Thornton. His fill in musician was one of Nashville's own, Johnny Jones on bass helping out for a few months. Johnny is an excellent bass man and fit in perfectly with the group. The Artimus Pyle Band is highly energetic bringing out the best of Lynyrd Skynyrd's all-time hits such as Breeze, That Smell Saturday Night Special, Traveling Man, Gimme Three Steps, Sweet Home Alabama, Curtis Loew, and of course the grandest of all, "Freebird". If you close your eyes you can't tell the difference in the musicians from the original guys. They are magnificent in every aspect. Van Zant would be nothing but proud of these guys for playing the music of yesteryear and keeping it rocking and rolling into the future. I must add that Artimus Pyle is the kindest, most considerate man to the audience and his fans. He is the most personable of men and a delight to talk to. I have heard that he never leaves a show until he has spoken to the last fan that wanted to meet him. He offers a meet and greet if you will, free of charge, after the show. I do not know of any others that are so kind. Artimus, Ronnie is smiling down on you at every show! I read somewhere that you said no one would have known your name if it had not been for him. You are keeping his name alive in the music you continue to share that is so beautiful! Nashville Loves You, I love you, come again you Southern Rock Gentleman.
You are always welcomed here in the Musical City.

Rod Stewart & Cyndi Lauper at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena by Pat Adams
Rod Stewart put on a great show as usual, playing many of his hit songs. Cyndi Lauper was the opening act, and even joined Rod on stage, at one point. Rod Stewart's daughter Ruby, performed with her duo act, The Sisterhood Band. Ruby Stewart, also joined Rod on-stage for a version of his hit song, Forever Young. This was my third time of seeing Rod Stewart, since his Faces days. It's always an awesome concert. Opening act Cyndi Lauper, just added to the greatness of this concert.
