About the promoter,
Pat Adams:
Pat Adams worked for the
Kaleidoscope, a Nashville music
paper in the 1970’s. He was also a
reporter for WLAC radio, reporting
from Nashville hotspots like the Hee
Haw TV set and RCA Recording
Studios, where Elvis Presley
recorded many of his early hits. This
was the start of Pat’s interest in
concert promotion and covering the
local music scene. His first project
was the Creekers Ball in the 1980's,
an annual Nashville music event
featuring dozens of southern rock
acts. In 2003, Pat got the idea for
Tennessee Concerts as an outlet to
document, preserve and showcase
his decades of covering the
Nashville music scene, online to a
worldwide audience. More recently
Pat is the promoter of Nashville’s
longest running rock & roll musicians
jam, The Play It Again Jam. Players
at the 2006-2009 Play it Again Jam
events include musicians that have
worked with Taylor Swift, Toby
Keith, The Four Tops, Kiss, Robert
Palmer, Beatlemania, Pacific Gas &
Electric, Rick Derringer, Sam &
Dave, Wilson Pickett, J.J. Cale,
Marshall Tucker Band, Lynyrd
Skynyrd, Stonewall Jackson, Hank
Williams Jr, Crystal Gayle, Jerry
Reed, Peter Frampton, The Platters,
Percy Sledge, Peter Noone,
Blackfoot, Molly Hatchet, Brenda
Lee, plus several members from the
original Charlie Daniels Band. Pat
has a vision and commitment to
helping bands fine tune their
presentation and hopefully rewarded
for their efforts in a tough economic
time, where promotion is key and
crucial to take your band to the next
level. Pat pledges to make your
experience with this opportunity a
fair and pleasant one.

Since 1970, Pat Adams, the editor and
founder of the Tennessee Concerts
website, has been documenting the
concerts and musical events of Middle
Tennessee. His website is chock full of
photos, exclusive videos, artist and tour
information and is even your source for
concert tickets. Every time you visit the
site, there is something new. Recently

Pat's great website, is a treasure-trove of memorabilia dating back
almost fifty years. He has been around Nashville a long time and his
website features the Tennessee appearances of music greats such
as Elvis, The Beatles, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Stevie
Wonder and Southern all-stars such as Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton,
Charlie Daniels, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker and many more.
Success has not spoiled Pat Adams, who is still a laid back,
soft-spoken country gentleman. When Pat is filming at the Play It
Again Jam (which Tennessee Concerts has been sponsoring since
it's beginnings), he is nearly invisible. That is a great trick for any
videographer who can pull it off, and he succeeds in doing it as well
as anyone I've ever seen. Many of his videos are up on YouTube,
and you can easily tell that the artists are not distracted by the camera.
Lately, Pat and Tennessee Concerts have been featuring the Gary
Allen Sonic Bids Song Of The Month winners. Gary's song evaluation
and competition has been running since 2007, and winners,
runners-up and honorable mentions are posted on the site. (Gary is a
life-long Nashville resident, who has played with such musical greats
as Charlie Daniels, JJ Cale and Opry star Stonewall Jackson) The
competition is not without rewards, and winners not only receive prizes,
but their songs are passed on to other music industry people.
The song evaluation is really only one of a number of collaborations
between Pat Adams and Gary Allen.
With an online store (offering everything from hats and caps to little
Tennessee Concerts shirts for your dog), photos, articles, memorabilia
dating back to the 1960's, videos, a good-sized links page and a large
database containing information on the musical stars of today and
yesterday, Tennessee Concerts appears to be a kind of 'one-stop
shopping' site for music lovers in Nashville and everywhere else.

Gary Allen, a BMI recording artist, is a life-long resident of Nashville,

reports that Gary is played on the radio every 4 seconds on Epic,

enough, the list of Gary's musical affiliations with managers, A&R
people, radio, TV, recording engineers, booking agents, record
labels and program directors is also quite long. The sharing of these
connections is one of the benefits for the winners of the Sonic Bids
Music City Song Competition, which Gary officiates in association

prizes, are featured in the Music City Beat newsletter and are
spotlighted on the Tennessee Concerts website, which is a top rated

By Kenny Utterback
from the Music City Examiner
The "Play It Again Jam", Nashville's longest
running rock and roll jam, went on hiatus for
almost a year, starting at the end of 2007.
Having lost their lease, the promoters of the jam
(Gary Allen, former drummer from Charlie
Daniels' band) and Pat Adams (of Tennessee
Concerts.com) had to search for a new venue
for the bi-monthly event. For a short period, the
jam regulars were topping the bill for Music City
Nights, while it was showcasing at the old
Mocambo Club location on 4th Avenue.
When the venue took a sharp turn toward mostly
presenting upcoming country music artists, the
rock and roll jam didn't seem like a good fit
anymore, to the jam's promoters. So, the search
resumed for a better match.
It now appears that a great little club on 2nd
Avenue South called Windows Off The
Cumberland, which already deals in rock and
roll, has partnered with the Play It Again Jam
promotional team to host the jam two nights a
month (the old 'Jam' format) starting in March.
Jams have already been held at the club, in
December and January, with another scheduled
on Sunday, February 22nd. Photos and videos of
these sessions can be seen on the Tennessee
Concerts website. To learn more about the
history of the jam, or to view the latest videos
and photographs, go to
www.tennesseeconcerts.com/jam.

New talent competition in Nashville
There is a new talent competition in Nashville, sponsored by Tennessee Concerts and Windows Off The Cumberland, in
association with Sonic Bids. This is a brand new competition and your band can still get in on the first go-around.
Promoter Pat Adams, of Tennessee Concerts, makes clear his reasons for initiating the competition, on the Sonic Bids website:
"Pat has a vision and commitment to helping bands fine tune their presentation and hopefully be rewarded for their efforts in a
tough economic time, where promotion is key and crucial to take your band to the next level. Pat pledges to make your experience
with this opportunity a fair and pleasant one."
Winners of the competition receive everything from an engraved plaque to a personalized, custom band web page, maintained for
one year, on the Tennessee Concerts website. Other prizes include the band's drummer getting a free one year subscription to the
Not So Modern Drummer magazine, one of the sponsors of the talent competition. The winner for 2009, chosen from the
monthly winners, will receive prizes that include a booking at the music venue Windows Off The Cumberland. The video of that
event will then be promoted on the Tennessee Concerts website and on You Tube. Read this article in the Music City Examiner
