Back in the day the Municipal Auditorium
was the place to go for concert and sporting
events in Nashville, but is now rarely used
for such events.
It really should be currently used for more
events, since it is a nice mid-size venue,
somewhere in size between the Ryman
Auditorium and the Bridgestone Arena.
The venue has lots of history.
The groundbreaking for the Municipal
Auditorium was constructed in 1962.
Some of the biggest music
acts in history have played the auditorium,
including Elvis Presley, The Jackson Five,
The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and
many many more.
I saw many great concerts myself including
the Paul Revere & The Raiders, The
BeeGees, Three Dog Night, Grand Funk
Railroad, Kansas, Beach Boys, Elton John,
Billy Joel, Linda Ronstadt, David Bowie,
Lynyrd Skynyrd, Atlanta Rhythm Section,
Robert Plant, Aerosmith, Rod Stewart &
Faces, Edgar Winter Group, Joe Cocker,
The Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, Doobie Brothers,
Queen, Bruce Springsteen, and I
could go on and on
